Dennis and I decided to try out our new tent and camp out about 3,400 feet elevation near the summitt of Mt. Diablo. Mt. Diablo is located near Concord, CA and only about 5 miles from our home. It's most beautiful up there on a clear night and you can see the city lights of all of the surrounding cities yet your all alone on top of the mountain. We spent the day kicking back. We had cooked lunch and dinner and tested out the new tent in preparation of our upcoming trip to South Lake Tahoe on Labor Day 2010. I did some hiking to take some pictures and Dennis & I enjoyed seeing one very nice sunset. We hope you enjoy the pictures of our short getaway. |
I woke early at about 6 am and watched the sun rise from the East. There was fog below but as the sun rose during the morning the skies began to clear up. |
Dennis and I cooked up a little lunch then we went up a short distance to the summit of Mt. Diablo. The weather was nice and the views really spectacular. |
Dennis and I returned from the summit and I took a hike and saw some nice views of Concord, CA and Walnut Creek, CA to the North and Northwest. There was such a peacefulness out there with a little wind. |
We cooked up some chicken on the stove and enjoyed watching the sunset. We enjoyed a DVD movie in the tent and then took a walk under the stars. We hope you enjoyed the pictures taken from our short stay on Mt. Diablo. |
