Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias Glacier Point

Dennis and I made a visit to Mariposa Grove and Glacier Point at Yosemite National Park on Memorial Day Weekend while visiting family near Mariposa, CA. We hope you enjoy the pictures and brief write-up about the big trees of Mariposa Grove.

Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias

The Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias is one beautiful place to see some the oldest trees around. The Giant Sequoias are the largest living things known. We highly recommend making a visit to Mariposa Grove.

The Grizzly Giant is one of the largest trees in the Mariposa Grove. The estimated age of the tree is 2,700 years old.

The Faithful Couple, these two trees are joined at the bottom but separate as they go upward.

The Clothespin Tree. There have been numerious fires that have excavated a natural tunnel wide enough for a vehicle.

The Mariposa Tree carries the name of the County of Mariposa. This is one of the most perfectly shaped Sequoias in the grove.
